Silhouette Cameo vs. Cricut Expression
The Silhouette CAMEO and Cricut offer a similar experience in dimensions. Both are portable, although the CAMEO is a bit smaller and almost 15 pounds lighter.
The Cricut is cartridge-based. You don’t need a computer; you plug in your cartridge and cut! If you would like better features, welding and other options, you’ll require the Gypsy, Design Studio or Cricut Craft Room. You will also need the cartridges.
Silhouette’s Studio software programs are more intuitive, making it simpler to start cutting. The Silhouette Studio is required for importing and manipulating images. Silhouette Studio is more easy to use and it is free.
Both cut different material, paper, vinyl and fabric. The Cameo can cut more intricate designs. Replacement pieces cost more for the Silhouette.
The Cricut is more epensive overall. Cricut does not support third party software. You are able to share cartridges, so long as you cut straight off your machine; cartridges which have been registered on Gypsy won't load on your own. The Silhouette CAMEO includes a higher base cost, however, you can choose from 19,000 images at Silhouette Online
You’ll look for a free image at Silhouette Online. There’s no limit to what you may create.
We think the CAMEO is preferable to the Cricut because of limitless design options.
